Develop Your Intellect not just the Grades

Have you ever wondered what most of the great scientists were academically. You would be surprised to know their academic performance was average or even below average to poor. What makes a person successful is the knowledge and not the grades.

Having grades does not have any side effects, but not having them is always seen as a negative impression. Lets change this outlook and focus on the goal. The goal is knowledge, building intellect.

Parenting somewhere has taken a sharp turn in the last generation where the success of children is measured by their academic grades. Its was not so couple of generations earlier and before that. Why this shift? What I can make of this is that the grades are taken too personally by parents as their personal success/failure report. A child shows good grades means the teacher and the parent both feel successful and when the child performs poorly both feel they have not doing their job correctly. Where is the child in between all this? What should matter as a parent and as a teacher is the knowledge the child is gaining? Success is not measured by a scorecard. Knowledge is much wider than the judgement of a single examination.

We at Navlakhi’s persue the path of Intellectual Development. We have many outstanding records of academic excellence in terms of grades but what matters is where are they presently after years of leaving our institute. Are they successfully away from the shadows or glory of marks and examinations? Do they yet remember the knowledge we imparted to them? Then we are successful.
